Tracey Oostenbrink

Project Officer,Schools to Work Transition Program

Tracey has 21 years of experience as an Industry Liaison Officer at James Nash State High School in Gympie, where she has specialised in guiding secondary students through the transition from school to work. Her role included coordinating work experience, facilitating school-based traineeships and apprenticeships, and coaching students in resume writing and interview techniques.

She has built strong relationships with local businesses and is passionate about helping students, particularly those at risk, find meaningful career pathways. Her focus on connecting schools with businesses has been key to supporting student success.

Before her education career, Tracey worked for 20 years at Telstra as a Call Centre Manager and Operator Services Performance Manager for Queensland. With a Diploma in Business, she combines her management experience with her passion for mentoring students.

Now as a Project Officer, Tracey is excited to continue driving positive outcomes for youth employment in the region.

Sotera Trevaskis

Director of Regional Development

Sotera is an experienced policy, strategy and project management professional who has spent the past decade working in senior and leadership positions.


With more than 20 years’ experience across diverse sectors such as health care, retail, Indigenous economic development, agribusiness and government, she brings a wealth of expertise and a versatile skillset to her role.


With qualifications in Policy and Public Management, Project Management and Business Administration, Sotera takes both a strategic and practical approach to region's economic development.


She is passionate about working with community, business and all levels of government to build stronger, more inclusive and vibrant regional communities.


Through volunteering and professional collaborations, Sotera is a strong supporter of individuals and organisations that make a positive impact on their community.


She and her family have lived on beautiful Butchulla country since 2010, and call Hervey Bay home.

Carly Spicer

Executive Assistant

Carly is an experienced administration, project management and marketing professional who has lived and worked both in Australia and New Zealand.


She has previously worked in a diverse range of roles, including as an insurance consultant, registered financial advisor, and production planner and project manager in the construction industry.


Carly has also run her own successful micro-business handmaking and selling polymer clay jewellery.


She is a strong supporter of small enterprise, and particularly of women in business and industry, and is passionate about rural and regional Queensland’s potential for growth and success.


Carly is currently studying a Bachelor of Paramedical Science, mastering in disaster management, and is an SES volunteer.

Tim Sayre

Project Officer, Jobs Bundaberg

Tim has more than two decades of experience across small business, government and not-for-profit sectors.


His previous roles have included Regional Stakeholder Manager for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland, Bundaberg and District Chamber of Commerce President, as well as 10 years of being a small business owner.


He holds a Graduate Diploma of Project Management and a Bachelor of Teaching, both from CQUniversity.


Throughout his working life, Tim has witnessed significant changes to the Bundaberg employment landscape, with the focus shifting from “finding jobs for people” to “finding people for jobs”.
This challenge is one of his key drivers as he works in partnership with the business and community sectors and all levels of government.


Tim is passionate about business and industry, in particular small to medium enterprises, believing them to be the foundation of our local economies and essential parts of the community fabric.

Kirsty Hill

Workforce Development Officer

Kirsty is an accomplished leader and program manager with more than 30 years of experience in the apprenticeship, training,  employment and education sectors.


Starting her career as an apprentice chef, she has held a diverse range of roles from apprenticeship group training and business development to Federal Government contracts for apprentice and trainee employment and training.


Kirsty has previously spent more than 11 years in the Northern Territory mentoring and managing apprentices for Indigenous, diversity and not-for-profit groups, as well as recruiting apprentices and trainees for the NT Government.


Kirsty is a big believer in the power of apprenticeships and traineeships in leading to great careers.  Committed to educating students on the many apprenticeship and traineeship pathways available, Kristy is eager to create seamless and fulfilling career transitions and is passionate about her community, and supporting people to learn a trade.
